Nevada Society of Scottish Clans annually presents the Silver Thistle Award to a Scot of the Year to recognize an American of Scottish ancestry for their outstanding service and significant contributions to the people and communities of Northern Nevada or Northeast California.
This prestigious award recognizes
Americans of Scottish ancestry
for their outstanding service to the people and communities of northern Nevada
and northeast California through their significant contributions in business,
medicine, education, fine arts and/or philanthropy in northern Nevada or
northeast California.
This person must be a permanent resident of northern Nevada or northeast
California and need not be a member of the Nevada Society of Scottish Clans.
